Pitchu Li Sha'arey Tzedek

Pitchu Li Sha'arey Tzedek
Translation: "Open Up for me the Gates of Righteousness; I will enter them and thank G-d"
Details
The composition of this piece highlights the beauty and significance of these pesukim from Hallel. The gate hints at Jerusalem, both the Jerusalem stone and the wrought iron work of the gate itself. The inspiration came from davening hallel in the Holy City, linking the gates of the city to the gates of heaven. This is an natural link as the Beit HaMikdash is the meeting place on earth between the physical and the spiritual.
The work is called a semi-reproduction. After Moshe completes the original piece entirely by hand, he reproduces the paper cut by laser. Then, he hand-details each piece. The bottom text and gold gouache are hand executed, as is the hanging of the handmade colored paper behind the papercut. The background paper and the hand detailing are the same as in the original. Each piece is signed and numbered. The reproduction is therefore of a very high quality.
