Blessing for a Wedding (Ani L'Dodi)
Description
The Blessing for a Wedding (ani l'dodi), signed by the artist, was created, printed and framed in Jerusalem. Zeesi, the artist, has the ability to bring the warmth, joy and beauty of Jerusalem and Judaism to her art. In this piece, we see a dazzling mixture of warm colors, a chupa (wedding canopy) with the couple underneith and the groom saying the blessing over the wine, part of the Jewish wedding ceremony. In the background we see the Old City of Jerusalem with the Holy Temple restored. We also see a peacock and trees found in the Land of Israel. This beautiful piece is enveloped by flowers in the border. The Hebrew text says:
"Ani l'dodi v'dodi li", which means "I am to my beloved and my beloved is to me."
We offer a linear (both English AND Hebrew) and all Hebrew only version.
